Yana Peneva

To tell stories. To see, to feel, to show the world through my eyes. Your world, my world, our world. Each of us inhabits his own reality. I want to see what yours looks like and tell about it.

I have been photographing since 2010. I live in a small village with 40 inhabitants, near the sea. I travel a lot, move a lot, read a lot. I am interested in capturing and creating worlds. In discovering new worlds. In dreaming. In playing with the imagination - both mine and someone else's. I'm curious.

I photograph weddings and families.

Weddings, because I empathize with people's happiness, I enter their world and their emotion for a while. The weddings I love to photograph the most are the ones that have soul and less vanity.

Families, because for me this is happiness and meaning. My son is the most meaningful and interesting thing in my life. I try to capture in a photo the relationships between people. The small gestures, the trusting glances, the warm hug, the play and the movement. As a silent observer.

I am honored to be a part of the Sony family as a Sony Image Creator.

I am a member of the international association Fearless Photographers.

I have been a jury member in various wedding photography contests, including Fearless photographers and the Romanian Fotografi-Cameramani.

I have been nominated for Europe's new talent at Europe's biggest convention for wedding photographers - BodaF.

I have taught workshops in Bulgaria, Japan, Norway. I have spoken at conferences in Bulgaria and Romania.

I photograph because I like to stop the time and show the world through my eyes, my world.

Photography is my way of showing the world as I see it. I like to photograph people, stories, events. I look for the unexpected, the different, the distinctive.
